Im all for embracing everyone's different take on christmas but seriously...this tree is a step too far...could it get more mechanical...totally the opposite to what christmas is all about...in fact it looks like it's made of post it notes...I went up close thinking maybe it was actually a cute idea with messages written on it...but no...it's just plain, old ugly for no reason.

 

 

Don't just stick to traditional Christmas decor…DIY candles provide original impact made from cherry tomatoes submerged in water with wax pellets on top with a wick through the middle…

 

Feels like Christmas has knocked on the door waaaay too early this year...perhaps because I started these in September when feeling particularly creatively frustrated after a hard day at the office...All hand made with love to decorate not only your trees and garlands, but look great as table decorations for dinner parties or they make cute little christmas presents too.

I have one box left but can make them to order if there are some you prefer over others.

The first and loudest arguement I heard my parents have was my mother wanting to take me to the nutcracker ballet and my father protesting I was far too young and would be asleep in seconds...the result was me jumping from my mother pinching me every time my eye lids gravitated south!

The Stuttgart Ballet though is not one you need matchsticks to wedge your peepers open for.

An eccentric mix of ballet, modern dance and comedy all within short episodes- perfect for those with a shorter attention span than most (ahem)!

Some of the short stories/performances are intensely sexually charged but in a way that makes you wish your body worked as theirs does magically and electrically in sync with someone else's and the lighting throughout enhances the beauty of the dancers incredibly well.

Make a beeline for tickets when the Stuttgart is back in town- there wasnt a dry seat in the house and the air was thick with enthusiasm for this piece.

When you get to this cinema you understand the name because every man should take his doll to this quirky little joint. She'll be so impressed you'll have her eating out of your palm for a long time to come. All the old timers are here to greet you, Hitchcock and friends new and old.
This intimately cosy, vintage paradise serves up cocktails and movies, the best hot dogs in town and the gorgeous aspiring actor Oscar who one day will be the shining star on Everyman's big screen...wonderland what?! Heaven on a wednesday night...or any night you choose to woo a honey...this is where its at!

Shoes glorious shoes, pumps, stilletos and high heels...ok enough of that but on a serious note if you missed the Selfridges Shoe Carnival you missed edible cocktails in the form of mini shoe-vodka-jellies (three of my all time fave things in the world...all in one; who'd of thought it possible!!?), candly floss and retro sweet, old school bicycle stands, acrobats spinning to the DJ's tunes and I havent even got to the shoe part yet...well actually with all that crazy stuff it's the first time I

can actually say the shoes were the least good bit!

 

                                  

My summer begins next month and is looking soooo hot right now...but I can't find any appropriately high shoes to pack...dilemma. Selfridges you won on all fronts except the one you were promoting!

                            
 

And speaking of failures I went to the Light Exhibition at the Hayward Gallery last week after trembling with excitement for two weeks prior for lack of obtaining tickets and was so disappointed! I queried whether I was just becoming old, jaded, and unappreciative but actually conclude that we are so spoilt for choice of brilliance in most domains of London's creative world that those that try to entertain, whatever the subject matter, have no room for complaisance.

Tonight I am lucky enough to be in the front row watching Josh Weller...and its been a couple of years since I have ever felt this alive in the hub of inexplicable musical electricity...Josh Weller is surfing the horizon to making a lot of people's symphonic dreams. His talented fingers thrash his guitar strings which in turn thrashes the crowds hearts.
Seeing him lost in his own musical parady leads you to lose yourself in your own parallel universe, he has musical genius imprinted in his genetics. He sings,and my soul has been stolen...only he can now verify my soul.

Upon entering this dimly lit, smoky room that would not be out of place in the 40's you are firmly instructed to leave your inhibitions at the door to partake in this tongue in cheek sinful flight of fantasy...Feathers and frolics, a double vodka on the rocks and the scene is set for the incredibly talented and sexy performers.Dinner was surprisingly good considering the reasonable price demanded...Proud Camden is definitely the dominant choice of venues for organising events with a difference- be it a hen night, birthday or just a fun night out!

New year, new angle...Fuerza Bruta is definitely that! With a glass platform suspended above the audiences heads and performers dancing, slipping and sliding in gushing water this is a rather more innovative performance concept than we are accustomed to!

                 

You think the hedonistic vibe cannot get anymore electric until a hot Argentine pilot descends on a cord from what could be heaven and whips up a lucky member of the audience, entangles himself around her and takes her back up to bounce around with him on the dream bubble-this wont make sense I know...you'll just have to go see for yourself!!            

The roundhouse is the perfect place to welcome this incredible group of artists to London for the second time. The concept was probably designed around the space the roundhouse offers. They bounced off every wall and swung from the ceiling all to exhiliaratingly loud music. It makes you want to lose yourself in this dreamworld and just to bring another dimension, it should have been the introduction to an all night party there!

They would have had trouble tearing me away at the end if I hadn't been so stupid as to wear heels - it's standing only as the audience is manipulated around the room in line with the acts... Girls- you have been warned!!
