The first and loudest arguement I heard my parents have
was my mother wanting to take me to the nutcracker ballet and my father
protesting I was far too young and would be asleep in seconds...the result was
me jumping from my mother pinching me every time my eye lids gravitated south!
The Stuttgart Ballet though is not one you need
matchsticks to wedge your peepers open for.
An eccentric mix of ballet, modern dance and comedy all
within short episodes- perfect for those with a shorter attention span than
most (ahem)!
Some of the short stories/performances are intensely
sexually charged but in a way that makes you wish your body worked as theirs
does magically and electrically in sync with someone else's and the lighting throughout enhances
the beauty of the dancers incredibly well.
Make a beeline for tickets when the Stuttgart is back in
town- there wasnt a dry seat in the house and the air was thick with enthusiasm
for this piece.
